Series Guidelines – 2012

Each Track Owner that is participating in the series has a voice in creating the Rules and Procedures for My Series.  The Track Owners recognize that input from the racers through the Competition Committee is crucial for the long-term success of My Series. If you have a suggestion, please tell your Track Owner and Competition Committee representative.

Race Format and Home Raceway

A racer’s Home Raceway is the one that the racer lists at the first race they attend.  In the event that a raceway closes, the racer will be allowed to select a new raceway at their first race after the closing. Raceways that are both sold and move to a new location will be considered a new raceway for future schedules.

All decisions and rulings of the tech director will be final.

A new format was introduced in 2011.  There may be changes made on-the- fly as we see what works and what does not work.

All racers will qualify by laps and sections and be placed in a Main.  There will never be more than 12 racers in any qualifing race.  If there are 12 or fewer  racers there will be no qualifing and a sit out format will be used for a single Main.  If there are 13 or more racers, multiple Mains will be used.

Top 6 qualifiers will be placed in the A Main.

The remaining qualifiers will be placed in B, C and  D Mains.

The Winner of the D Main will move up to the C Main.

The Winner of the C Main will move up to the B Main.

The Winner and the Runner-Up of the B Main will movwe to A Main.

Example:

18 entries would have 2 Mains (12 racers in the B  with Top 2 going to the A)

19-29 etries would have 3 Mains (6 in the A, the rest split between the B & C)

  30+ entries would have 4 Mains (6 in A, 7 in B, the rest split between the C & D.

Race format will be 2 minutes on, 2 minutes off for all mains.

Entry Fees & Payout

The entry fee for each race is $10.  The entry fee is split as follows:  $4 goes to the host raceway, $4 goes toward the prize payout for that class, and $2 goes to My Series to cover administrative costs, plaques, web site, etc..

In the Amateur Division each entry will receive Track Bucks or Merchandise via a “blind draw.”  In the Experienced Division the payout will be in the form of Track Bucks for the Top 5 positions in the Main based upon the total number of entries in that Class.  First Place receives 40%, Second Place receives 30%, Third Place receives 15%, Fourth Place receives 9% and Fifth Place receives 6%.

Points

1st Place -  16 points 9th Place -   8 points
2nd Place -  15 points 10th Place -  7 points

6th Place -  11 points 14th Place -  3 points
7th Place -  10 points 15th Place -  2 points
8th Place -   9 points 16th Place -  1 point

All racers’ who enter a race will be awarded five (5) participation points.

The total of all races will be tallied at the end of the racing season.  A racer may drop one race. A disqualification (DQ) receives zero points and cannot be dropped.

If there is a tie, the following will determine the winner.

1)  Most races attended

2)  Most 1st Place finishes.

3)  Most top 3 finishes.
